Kent Science Park, April 2024: Flexible Lab Solutions, an industry leader in laboratory technology innovation, is pleased to announce the introduction of the new LabworX™ "SmartDeck", its latest innovation in compact laboratory automation systems. With a clear goal of optimising laboratory processes, SmartDeck empowers laboratories to automate more processes, whilst retaining the option for manual operation and automated scale up.

Run by a team of industry experts, Flexible Lab Solutions has long recognised the need for clients to maintain autonomy while empowering them to develop at their own pace.  Built on the same modular technology as all the LabworX™ Smart systems,SmartDeck allows scientists to automate assays with both accuracy and consistency. By decreasing the number of manual interventions, a customised SmartDeck solution reduces the likelihood of human oversight, which in turn ensures both the stability and reliability of all captured data.

SmartDeck's compact footprint is well-suited for labs with limited free space. The new LabworX SmartDeck, offers a comprehensive range of functions that are comparable to larger and more multifaceted automation systems. As with all LabworX™ products, workflows are created and managed by the Director™ automation scheduler from FUJIFILM Wako Automation. The customisable web based interface enables multiple users to simultaneously access and control workflows with minimal training.

The SmartDeck's versatility is one of its most notable characteristics. The small system is capable of performing a complex and diverse array of laboratory operations, and its modular architecture enables labs to quickly reconfigure systems and adapt to changing needs.

The LabworX™ SmartDeck provides a rapid cost effective solution, maximising both walk away time and error handling. Multiple instruments can be pooled within the system to increase throughput or provide instrument redundancy for critical assays. Instruments can be used within the automation or quickly switched to manual mode for single plate operation.
